Hot Room Tips
Create a calm, quiet space to promote the feelings of relaxation
Add candles (please be careful & safe with the candles and do not leave them unattended!)
Enhance your space with soothing pictures, meditation cushions, incense burners and perhaps design a focal point on which to focus your drishti (gaze)
But… keep it clutter free. Ensure that it is a safe, hazard free environment.
Purchase a humidifier, and a heater, but please be very safe when using it. Ensure the heater is unplugged when you are not using it and keep it away from curtains, and anything flammable!
Heat the room 30 mins before class if possible and available to you
Please stay hydrated at all times! Drink plenty of water throughout the day, small sips during practice (but after Eagle posture!) and ensure that you hydrate directly after class. Add homemade electrolytes to your water if you’d like, such as a combination of Himalayan pink salt, maple syrup and a squeeze of lemon juice - chuck a few chia seeds in there too if you fancy it!
Please ease into the class – if you’re unable to get your room to 105 degrees Fahrenheit with a humidity level of 40 percent, take it easy! Your physical limitations may be a lot less than in the hot studio!
Generate heat by wearing layers.
Take a hot bath or shower before class.
Consider using a mirror. Handy for self-corrections, ensure proper alignment and positioning. If you don’t have a mirror, then focus on how your body is feeling in each posture instead of how it looks.
Do not eat 2-3 hours before class
Wear flexible clothing that does not limit movement
Practice with another household member, two bodies practicing equals twice the amount of heat rising!
Position your camera so that I can see as much of you as possible
